Stewart County Ministries is open to anyone in Stewart County, TN that has a desire to better our community while sharing the love of Christ. We work diligently to create a better world for the children of Stewart County.

Our present focus is on the addiction problem in our county. Addiction is running rampant. Few families in our small community can say they have not been touched in one way or another by addiction.

Working in jail ministry and through our own family hurts, we discovered the difficulty those wanting help face. While many assume any addict can enter rehab for free, that is not the case. Free is a misconception. While there are few free rehabilitation centers, most have long waiting lists. Unfortunately, when an addict wants help, there are only precious hours to get that help. If placement cannot be found within a few hours, the addict will often change his/her mind. The withdrawls and addiction are usually too strong. 

 

We have too many children in this community born addicted to drugs, living with grandparents or other family members, or sent to foster care. We have too many children living in horrid conditions because their parents are addicts. We have too many young adults dying in our community. The overdose and death rate due to overdose is the highest it has ever been. We are in an epidemic.

 

Through the Stewart County Rehab Fund, we can offer financial assistance to those seeking placement in a long-term, in-patient rehabilitation center. Applicants must be serious about recovery and be willing to spend 6 months to a year in an in-patient facility.

We rely on support from our community. The cheapest rehabs run $700 per month. Rehabilitation costs can be as much as $10,000 per month, depending on the facility. We strive to find the most cost effective, yet reliable rehabilitations centers. Without donations from community members, churches, and local groups, we cannot help those iin need. Working together, we can change lives!
